First West Nile case reported in county

The first human case this year of West Nile Virus in Pima County has been confirmed. A woman was admitted to the hospital with symptoms that included fever, headache, neck pain, tremors, muscle weakness and pain, extreme fatigue and confusion. She has since been released from the hospital.
Also, one mosquito trap site in Pima County has tested positive for West Nile Virus. The sample was collected on August 12, and the result was confirmed on August 19. The positive pool is located on the far northwest side of the county.
Residents can file mosquito complaints by calling the West Nile Virus information line at 243-7999.
