Community Food Bank Food Stand open Mondays
08:01 PM MST on Wednesday, August 20, 2008
The Community Food Bank’s Marana Farm Stand is open for business for three hours each Monday evening, selling naturally grown local fruits and vegetables. The stand features seasonal organic produce from the Food Bank Farm including melons, squash, cucumbers, eggplant, and other items. Produce such as potatoes, apples, peaches, and grapes from other organic growers is also sold.
The Farm Stand is also looking for people interested in growing and selling produce, eggs, honey and meat. Local growers can set up their own booth for a small fee, or can consign their produce for sale through the Food Bank’s Community Foods Consignment program.
Shoppers can pay with cash, food stamps, debit and credit cards, or with Arizona Farmers’ Market Nutrition vouchers. The stand is open every Monday from 4 to 7 p.m., and is located at the Marana Farm Ramada at Heritage River Park on North Heritage Park Drive in Marana.
