Desert Museum to celebrate birthday on Labor Day
07:25 PM MST on Wednesday, August 27, 2008
The Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum will celebrate it’s 56th birthday on Labor Day by making cake available to visitors and to many of the animals who live at the museum. Cake has always been offered to museum guests at previous birthday parties, but this year beginning at 10 a.m., museum inhabitants will be treated to specially-made cakes throughout the day.
The big-horned sheep will be given a vegetable cake with carrot and sweet potato candles, while the desert tortoises will enjoy veggie cupcakes, and bobcats will get a meat-filled cake with icicle candles. Also, the pumas will receive specially gift-wrapped boxes with meaty treats inside.
The Desert Museum will be open on Labor Day, Monday, September 1st, and every day through the month of September, from 7:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. More information is available by clicking here.
