Suspect sought in double homicide

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who they say was involved in a double homicide in April. Paul Maldonado-Ortega and Roberto Martinez-Vielledent were found shot to death in a vehicle at East Calle Del Pantera and North Swan Road on April 5.

Murder suspect
The man being sought is believed to have been living in the Tempe or Mesa area at the time of the murders, and may originally be from Michoacan, Mexico. He may use the nicknames “Flaco,” “Rigo,” or “Rodrigo,” and is described as a Hispanic male between 20 and 30 years old with a thin build.
Another man, 38-year old Ismael Contreras faces two counts of first-degree murder in the case. He is currently in prison in Buckeye awaiting extradition for the murder warrant.
Anyone with information on the case is asked to call 911 or 88-CRIME.
