A 20-year old Tucson man is in the Pima County Jail, charged with one count of second-degree murder and one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in connection with a fatal crash in May. Joshua Ruiz was arrested on Tuesday, September 16, following an investigation into the collision which took the life of 22-year old Sarah Lynn.

Investigators say Lynn was driving westbound on Escalante Road on May 22 when her vehicle was struck by a car driven by Ruiz as she tried to make a left turn onto South Queen Palm Drive. Police say Ruiz was speeding at the time of the crash, and toxicology results show that Ruiz had marijuana in his system at the time of the collision.
