Trash collection days to change in Tucson
07:37 PM MST on Tuesday, October 7, 2008
Just over half of Tucson’s residents will have their day of trash and recycling collection changed starting on Monday, November 10. The changes will affect residents and business owners who have plastic trash and recycling containers. Customers with metal dumpsters will not be affected.
Starting November 10, collections will be made on a five-day-a-week schedule, instead of the current six-day-a-week schedule. There will no longer be collection of trash or recyclables on Saturday, except during holiday weeks. In that case, customers will have their collection delayed by one day if their collection day falls on or after the holiday.
An insert with the new schedule map and holiday collection schedule is being mailed to all customers with their Utility Services bill. Also, all customers who will have their collection day changed will receive a door hanger notifying them of their new collection day. The new schedule can be viewed online by clicking here.
