Marana's Heritage Festival is October 25
07:24 PM MST on Tuesday, October 14, 2008
The first annual Marana Fall Heritage Festival will be held on Saturday, October 25, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Marana Heritage Park on the south side of Gladden Farms.
The festival will include historical displays from the Anza Trail Historical Society and Marana Heritage Foundation, a kids’ zone, arts and crafts vendors, seed planting for fall and winter crops, a farm stand to benefit the Community Food Bank, food vendors and flour milling.
Also, in conjunction with the festival, the Parks and Recreation Department will host “Thrill The World,” an attempt to break the record for the most people simultaneously performing the dance to Michael Jackson’s 1983 hit song, “Thriller.” Dance lessons will start at 9:30 a.m., and the record-setting attempt will start at 11 at Gladden Farms Park. Participants are encouraged to come in costume and makeup, and no age requirement or experience is necessary.
Heritage Park can be reached by taking exit 240 off of I-10 and going west on Tangerine Farms Road. The park is three miles from the interchange on the left hand side. More information is available by clicking here.
