Better Business Bureau sponsoring "ShredFest! '08"
10:10 PM MST on Sunday, November 2, 2008
The Better Business Bureau (BBB) of Southern Arizona is sponsoring “ShredFest! ’08,” where residents and business owners can shred documents and recycle cell phones, computers, and other office equipment. It will take place on Saturday, November 15, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the BBB office at 434 South Williams Boulevard.
“This event is for businesses and households that have old cell phones or computers, but don’t know what to do with them,” said BBB spokesperson Kim States. “It’s a convenient way to help local non-profits, protect your identity and keep hazardous electronics out of our landfills.”
The document shredding service is being donated by Arizona Verified Information Destruction. BBB will be accepting $10 tax deductible donations for it’s non-profit Education Foundation for the shredding services.
Cell phones collected will be donated to the Pima Council on Aging to help raise funds for their local senior programs. Computers and office equipment will be collected by World Care and either recycled or given to non-profits, schools, churches or other organizations.
