Homicide Unit investigating death of infant

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department’s Homicide Unit is investigating the death of a four day old girl on Wednesday, November 19. The child has been identified as Lysandra Laine.
Deputies and emergency medical personnel were called to the 6600 block of West Maverick Road at approximately 5:30 a.m. in response to a call about an infant in respiratory distress. The child was flown by helicopter to the hospital where she was pronounced dead. Detectives are awaiting the results of an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
