Attorney for person of interest in bike crash contacts Sheriff

The attorney for a man wanted for questioning in connection with the crash that injured several El Tour de Tucson bike riders has contacted the Pima County Sheriff’s Department. Although the name of the man will not be released until the investigation is complete, pictures of the damage done to his car as a result of the collision have been made available.

The crash happened shortly after 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 22, at the intersection of Ina Road and Westward Look Drive. Witnesses said after the collision, the driver got out of his car, inspected the damage to his vehicle and the bikes, and then fled the scene. Five cyclists were taken to the hospital for treatment of injuries, and one of them remains in critical condition.
