DUI Task Force makes 60 arrests

A total of 60 drunken driving arrests were made by the Southern Arizona DUI Task Force over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. Officers were deployed between 8 p.m. and 4 a.m. on Wednesday, November 26, Friday, November 28, and Saturday, November 29.
Nine of the drivers were charged with DUI felonies, while the other 51 face misdemeanor charges. Officers also issued 18 seat belt citations, 2 child restraint citations, and made 25 underage drinking arrests.
The DUI Task Force consisted of officers from the Tucson, Nogales, South Tucson, Pima College, Marana, University of Arizona, Tucson Airport Authority and Oro Valley Police Departments, plus Pima County Sheriff’s Deputies, Arizona Department of Public Safety officers, and National Park Service personnel.
