A retirement party for longtime Tucson Unified School District Board member Joel Ireland will be held on Thursday, December 4, from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at Project M.O.R.E., located at 440 South Park Avenue. Ireland has served on the board for two decades, but did not seek re-election in the November election.

The Rincon/University High School Jazz Band will perform during the celebration, and speakers will include several former board members who served alongside Ireland, Superintendent Elizabeth Celania-Fagen, and Jan Lesher from the Arizona Governor’s office.
