Golden Eagle flying high in Casa Grande area
08:49 AM MST on Wednesday, April 25, 2007
TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) -- Selling a lot of cold suds in the hot desert has led to a big expansion for Golden Eagle Distributors Inc.
The Tucson-based beer distributor invested in small central Arizona communities and now those investments are paying off as Pinal County becomes one of the fastest growing areas in the nation.
Last week, Golden Eagle broke ground on a $4 million expansion at its Casa Grande warehouse.
The company says it's more than doubling its 18-year-old warehouse space from 22,000 square feet to 57,000 square feet.
"We're simply out of room," said Golden Eagle CEO Christopher Clements.
Casa Grande has become the fastest-growing of Golden Eagle's six locations, because of both higher sales and more products.
"We're very fortunate to have made investments in the past in these communities, so we're prepared from a strategic standpoint for this growth," Clements said.
