10-month-old baby gets a gun permit
11:06 AM MST on Tuesday, May 15, 2007
(CNN) -- He's only 10 months old, but an Illinois baby has his own firearm owner's identification card from the state of Illinois.
Howard David Ludwig, also known as "Bubba," received the card after his grandpa decided to get an heirloom for the baby.
His grandfather picked out a shotgun for Bubba, so his father, Howard Ludwig, logged onto the Illinois State Police website and printed out an application.
Police sent the card back with a picture of the toothless, grinning baby on it.
Illinois State Police say there's nothing about age restrictions in the rules.
Applicants under age 21 simply must have a guardian's signature.
