Lake County Deputy Chuck Pore was flown to St. Charles Medical Center in Bend, but was released from the hospital Tuesday.
The dog fell through ice and into the sewage pond during a walk with its owner.
Pore put on a life vest and was attached to a rope held by three other officers. While crawling to the dog, the ice cracked and Pore fell into the water.
The trio pulled Pore out of the pond.
Sheriff Phil McDonald says that after Pore was rescued, a section of ice was chopped open and an Oregon State Police game officer used a small boat to retrieve the dog.
McDonald says the deputy is going to be OK and the dog is fine.
