eBay pulls auction for cereal shaped like Illinois

CHESAPEAKE, Virginia -- The online auction site eBay pulled the Great Illinois Corn Flake citing food packaging violation.
Though 15-year-old Emily McIntire and her 23-year-old sister, Melissa, hoped to sell the breakfast cereal as a mantle piece rather than an item for consumption, eBay pulled the auction because the food was not packaged or sealed properly.
Bidding on the corn flake the younger McIntire found in her breakfast reached over $200,000.
The girls tell 13News they plan to start a new auction for a coupon to receive the Great Illinois Corn Flake. They will only open the bidding to registered PayPal members.
The McIntires will set a Buy it Now price of $5,000, the equivalent to a Disney vacation for the family.
