No McCain statement in early Ore. pamphlet
10:09 AM MST on Monday, April 21, 2008
SALEM, Ore. (AP) -- The Voters' Pamphlet will soon be mailed to Oregon households, but the guide will apparently not have a statement from Arizona Sen. John McCain.
An early version posted on the Oregon Secretary of State's Web site includes not a word from McCain saying why he should become president.
Of course, there's not much at stake for McCain in the Oregon primary.
Though the Democratic race remains unsettled, McCain has secured enough delegates to become the Republican nominee.
Though McCain has the nomination sewn up, he does have opposition from Texas congressman Ron Paul on the May 20 primary ballot.
