TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) -- U.S. Border Patrol agents have discovered more than 1,300 pounds of marijuana near the San Miguel Gate on the Tohono O'odham Reservation.
Two agents and an agency dog were following the foot prints of a group of illegal immigrants Tuesday about four miles outside of the village of San Miguel when they came upon 21 burlap packs, said Mike Scioli, Border Patrol Tucson Sector spokesman.
There were 60 bundles of marijuana inside the packs and authorities said the 1,325 pounds of marijuana had an estimated value of about $762,000.
The Tucson Sector covers 262 miles from the New Mexico-Arizona line to Yuma County.
