DOUGLAS, VISTA, Ariz. (AP) -- Six prisoners were airlifted for medical treatment after being injured in fights at the state prison in Douglas.
Arizona Department of Corrections spokesman Bill Lamoreaux said the injuries occurred Wednesday morning after a few small fights broke out in the prison's Mohave Unit.
The unit is a 920-bed medium-security facility. There also are four minimum-security facilities at the Arizona State Prison Complex-Douglas, which the prison's Web site says have a total of 1,781 beds.
