Funeral services set for Glendale soldier killed in Iraq

PHOENIX (AP) -- Funeral services will be held Wednesday for an Army soldier from Glendale who was killed by an explosion in Iraq earlier this month.
The funeral service for Pvt. Corey L. Hicks will be held at 10 a.m. at the Chapel of the Chimes Mortuary in Glendale, with burial to follow at Glendale Memorial Park Cemetery.
Hicks was 22 when he was killed on May 2. The graduate of Cortez High School joined the Army in late August and was assigned to an armor regiment attached to the 4th Infantry Division.
Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Timothy and Dawn Settle, a brother and sister and a stepbrother and stepsister.
