Late spring storm brings light snow to Flagstaff area
08:12 AM MST on Tuesday, May 13, 2008
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (AP) -- Residents of Flagstaff and surrounding areas awoke Tuesday morning to snow.
A late spring storm had dumped 2 to 3 inches of snow on the area by 5 a.m., and the National Weather Service forecast another 1 to 3 inches before the snow tampers off later in the day.
A snow advisory is posted until noon, with the forecast of moderate to heavy snow showers to continue across the Mogollon (MUH'-ghi-ohn) Rim.
Forecasters, however, expect the snow to melt quickly after the storm passes.
