Colorado fugitive captured on Arizona's Lake Havasu

KINGMAN, Ariz. (AP) -- A Colorado fugitive is behind bars in Arizona after nearly eight years at large.
Sheriff's officials in Mohave County arrested 49-year-old Mark Bergenske on Saturday after they stopped a boat on Lake Havasu for not having any running lights.
Authorities say Bergenske then tried to grab a sergeant's gun from its holster. The sergeant and a sheriff's deputy wrestled Bergenske to the deck of a law enforcement boat, and the gun never left the holster.
Arizona officials say Bergenske walked away from the Colorado Correctional Center in Golden in September 2000. He had been serving a five-year sentence for menacing out of Mesa County.
Bergenske is being held at the Mojave County Jail pending extradition to Colorado.
