GILBERT, Ariz. (AP) -- A woman faces charges of child neglect and endangerment after Gilbert police found a 4-year-old girl unattended and crying in a residence, authorities said.
Officers found six children ranging from 4 to 13 in the residence unsupervised and living in unacceptable conditions Monday night.
Andrea Rubio arrived home and was found to be driving while impaired by drugs with her 10-year-old son as a passenger, police said.
Rubio, 39, was arrested for aggravated DUI and booked into a Maricopa County jail.
State Child Protective Services responded to the residence and took custody of Rubio's children. Two other children were turned over to their parents.
