Glendale police announce arrest in double homicide

GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) -- Glendale police have made an arrest in a double slaying earlier this week.
The suspect is identified by police as 23-year-old Timothy Bland of Phoenix. He was taken into custody Thursday afternoon in west Phoenix.
Police believe the killings were over a woman.
Tuesday night, officers responded to numerous calls of shots fired in south Glendale.
Upon arrival, officers found two men sitting in an SUV with gunshot wounds. Both men had been shot multiple times, and both men later died of their injuries.
At the time, a suspect was seen running away from the area.
Bland was arrested and booked on two counts of First Degree Murder, a single count of Prohibited Possession of a Firearm and a Parole Violation Warrant.
