PHOENIX (AP) -- Phoenix police have uncovered an organized crime ring they believe committed home invasions and kidnappings.
Police raided a Phoenix tire business Wednesday after receiving reports that the owner and employees were involved in organized crime, including armed robberies, home invasions and kidnappings across the Phoenix metro area.
The owner, Manuel Torres, 39, was arrested in court Wednesday while facing other criminal charges, police said.
When police searched the tire store, they found numerous fighting roosters and syringes commonly used to inject vitamins into the birds.
Investigators say the roosters were manicured and ready for cockfights.
Police also found several weapons, a ballistic vest, cash and ammunition. Police believe these items were used to commit robberies and home invasions.
Police did not say what charges Torres may face. The investigation is ongoing.
