UofA Professor gets chairmen appointment

A University of Arizona professor got a big promotion this week.
Gary J. Becker, M.D., professor of vascular and interventional radiology at College of Medicine, became chairman of the Radiological Society of North America Board of Directors Nov. 30 at the society’s annual meeting in Chicago.
Dr. Becker earned his medical degree from the Indiana University School of Medicine in 1977.
Dr. Becker has been with the UofA for a little less than a year. His main focus is minimally invasive therapies for vascular diseases.
He is also the founding editor of the Journal of Vascular & Interventional Radiology and was its editor-in-chief from 1990 to 1995
Dr. Becker also serves as associate executive director for diagnostic radiology and subspecialties at the American Board of Radiology, based in Tucson.
