Arizona woman says God told her to kill neighbor
05:11 PM MST on Monday, July 21, 2008
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) -- Court documents show that a woman arrested in the stabbing death of a neighbor told Scottsdale police that God told her to do it.
A probable cause statement released by a court Monday says Jill Fraley Manahan admitted to the killing during an interview with police.
According to the document, Manahan told authorities that she had argued with her 83-year-old neighbor on Sunday then stabbed her in the chest and back.
Manahan was arrested for investigation on one count each of murder and burglary.
There was no immediate response Monday to an Associated Press request made through jail authorities to interview Manahan.
