Pentagon announces death of Tucson soldier based in Iraq

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Department of Defense has announced the death of an Arizona soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Army Sgt. Victor M. Cota, 33, of Tucson died Wednesday in Baghdad of wounds suffered Tuesday when his vehicle encountered an improvised explosive device in Kadamiyah, Iraq.
Cota was assigned to the Special Troops Battalion, 4th Infantry Division at Fort Hood, Texas.
