2 men killed on Tucson-area ranch identified
05:01 PM MST on Wednesday, September 24, 2008
TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) -- Pima County sheriff's officials have released the names of two men fatally shot earlier this week at a rundown ranch southwest of Tucson.
Authorities identified them as William Lee Blankinship, 72, and George Ernest McCumber, 60. A 26-year-old California man also was found dead Monday.
Sheriff's spokeswoman Dawn Hanke says Blankinship was believed to be the owner and that both men apparently lived at the five-acre ranch.
The young man's name has not been released yet. Sheriff's Bureau Chief Rick Kastigar said investigators are awaiting his toxicology results after an autopsy failed to show what caused his death. He was wearing a bulletproof vest but showed no signs of trauma.
