HALIFAX, Nova Scotia (AP) — U.S. Sen. John McCain says he enjoyed reading Sarah Palin's new memoir and says the tension between his campaign aides and hers is no big deal.
But McCain likened the tension of a campaign to combat in an interview Saturday with The Associated Press on the sidelines of the Halifax International Security Forum.
In "Going Rogue," Palin confirms reports of discord between her aides and those of McCain, the 2008 Republican presidential candidate. The former vice presidential candidate says that she had wanted to deliver her own concession speach on election night, but was denied the chance. Palin says she was kept "bottled up" from reporters during the campaign.
McCain, who emerges unscathed in the book, says Palin is a dear friend.
