Sarah Nakasone - Television Correspondent

Sarah Nakasone joined our bureau in the summer of 2005 and quickly got her feet wet. She was on the last plane to fly into New Orleans before the airport shut down during Hurricane Katrina. Sarah spent a month in New Orleans and Baton Rouge - covering the flooding and aftermath for Belo stations. Since then she has conducted one on one interviews with former FEMA director Michael Brown and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. Before landing in Washington DC, Sarah lived in Raleigh where she reported on the Kerry/Edwards campaign, Hurricane Isabel, and hometown Idol Clay Aiken for WNCN NBC 17 News. Previously, Sarah also worked for News 14 Carolina and ABC Network News in Washington DC. She was the off-air reporter at the US Capitol building on September 11th. Before TV life, Sarah worked in the California State Assembly and on Capitol Hill. Sarah has spent most of her life in various cities, but calls California home.
