IGLS, Austria (AP) — Patric Leitner and Alexander Resch of Germany won a men's luge World Cup doubles race Saturday for their 34th career victory.
The 2002 Olympic champions, who also won the season-opening event in Calgary last week, set a new track record in their opening run and finished in a combined time of 1 minute, 18.631 seconds.
Andre Florschuetz and Torsten Wustlich of Germany finished second, trailing the winners by 0.101 of a second. Austria's Andreas and Wolfgang Linger took third, 0.106 behind.
Earlier Saturday, Natalie Geisenberger led a German 1-2-3 sweep at a women's luge World Cup race Saturday.
Geisenberger set a new track record in her first run. She finished in a combined time of 1 minute, 19.229 seconds for her fourth career title.
It was the 92nd women's World Cup race in a row that was won by a German.
Tatjana Huefner trailed Geisenberger by 0.053 of a second, while Anke Wischnewski was 0.060 back in third.
World champion Erin Hamlin of the United States finished ninth, 0.629 behind Geisenberger.
The event continues with a men's singles and a team race on Sunday.
