Rookie Tyreke Evans had 21 points and eight rebounds for Sacramento, which never trailed on its way to winning back-to-back games following a four-game losing streak.
AUBURN HILLS, Mich. (AP) — Chris Kaman scored 26 points and Baron Davis added 25 to help the Los Angeles Clippers top the Detroit Pistons 104-96 last night. Al Thornton scored 12 of his 19 points in the fourth quarter, including consecutive baskets midway through the period to give the Clippers the lead for good.
EDMONTON, Alberta (AP) — Patrick Marleau scored three goals, and Joe Pavelski had the lone shootout goal in the San Jose Sharks' 5-4 victory over the Edmonton Oilers last night. Marleau completed the hat trick with a short-handed goal with 1:26 left in regulation. Ryane Clowe also scored for the Sharks.
ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) — Teemu Selanne scored twice on the power play and Jean-Sebastien Giguere posted his first shutout of the season, leading the Anaheim Ducks to a 3-0 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks yesterday. The win snapped the Blackhawks' eight-game winning streak.
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Nikola Vucevic had 15 points and a career-high 12 rebounds as Southern California coasted to a 74-43 victory against Coppin State last night. USC shot 58 percent from the field and made 6 of 13 3-pointers to stay ahead of Coppin State, which made just 5 of 25 shots in the second half.
STANFORD, Calif. (AP) — Kayla Pedersen scored 18 points and had 12 rebounds in leading No. 2 Stanford to a 60-41 victory over Utah yesterday. It was the Cardinal's 31st consecutive win at home despite being held to their lowest point total since scoring 58 in a win over Cal in February.
